State politicians will be put under the spotlight on the major issues impacting racing in Queensland at the QROA Racing Forum (Friday 19 August, 2011).

The Racing Forum will feature Minister for State Development Murray Watt (representing Racing Minister Tim Mulherin) and Shadow Minister for Racing Tim Nicholls.

Ray Stevens, Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Racing, will also be in attendance.

“The QROA believes it is vital for owners and all stakeholders to be asking serious questions of both sides of politics in relation to racing in the lead up to the state election,” said QROA President Grant Morgan.

“The Racing Forum is a pro active initiative that we feel will assist in this process.”

The QROA will also publish a video of the Racing Forum on the QROA website following the event.

The Racing Forum will be held as part of the QROA AGM and Owners of The Year Award Ceremony.

The evening is being held at the Tattersall’s Club (215 Queens St Brisbane), with the Racing Forum to be compared by Radio TAB presenter John McCoy.

The evening commences at 5:30pm and concludes with complimentary drinks and cocktail food.

All racehorse owners are invited to attend, with RSVP for the function essential.
