Tough five year-old Heart Of The Citi has been a dream for connections racing at the top level as a two, three, four and now five year-old.
During the month of October, Heart of The Citi collected two feature quality races with these performances earning his connections the October Owners of The Month Award.
Heart Of The Citi is by leading Queensland sire Show A Heart, who continues to be an outstanding money spinner for connections who are fortunate to secure his stock at the yearling sales.
Deagon trainer Pat Duff went to $90,000 for Heart of The Citi at the 2006 Magic Millions Summer Sale.
Heart Of The Citi has now returned almost $1m in prizemoney, with the promise of more to come.
Much like his sire, Heart Of The Citi has been a prolific performer at two, three and four.
This year as a five year-old, Heart Of The Citi has continued his outstanding career by winning four more races.
Whilst his recent winning form has certainly been a thrill for connections, Heart Of The Citi’s feature career win cam as a three year-old when he was victorious in the $1m Magic Millions Trophy (1400m).
Heart of The Citi is the second foal of the grey Citidancer mare Citichy.
Citichy is proving to be an excellent producer, with all three foals to race now winners.
Her first foal is Showman, a full brother to Heart Of The Citi, has raced with good success in Macau including a runners up birth in the Magic Millions Futurity, together with six other victories.
Citichy’s third foal is Citiwyse, a More Than Ready four year-old who has already won four races and is a highly capable Saturday performer in Brisbane.
Citichy herself was a smart racemare winning 10 races for Sunshine Coast trainer Nick Flouskos.
One of her keynote career wins came at Grafton in the 2002 Listed Ramornie Handicap (1200m).
Prior to her Ramornie win, Citichy had captured black type success in the Group 3 Mercedes Benz (1200m).
