The 2010 racings season ended very well for connections of promising young galloper FIFTEEN CARAT. His back to back stakes wins in July have earned him the QROA July Owners of The Month award.

Veteran Gold Coast trainer Howard Wilson has unearthed another potential star in Show A Heart galloper Fifteen Carat.

Earlier in his preparation Fifteen Carat had accumulated feature placings in both the Gold Coast Guineas and the Queensland Guineas.

Heading into the Sunshine Coast Guineas, it seemed only fair that the good looking son of Show A Heart be rewarded for his consistency.

With Stathi Katsidis in the saddle, Fifteen Carat settled well back in the field of 18 before unleashing a powerful effort in the straight to claim $100,000 Listed race over the mile journey.

Among Fifteen Carat’s part owners is Katsidis fiancée, Melissa Jackson.

Proving the Sunshine Coast win was no fluke, Fifteen Carat franked that victory at his next start with another feature win in the Listed Tattersalls Mile at Eagle Farm.

Fifteen Carat is the first foal of the Snippets mare Brynica, a two time winner up to 1200m for Newcastle trainer Kris Lees.

Such is the dominance of stallions standing at leading stud Glenlogan Park, Byrnica has visited a Glenlogan stallion in all five seasons at stud for Canungra breeder Di Hannel.

Byrnica’s most recent foal was a Jet Spur filly last spring, whilst she is due to foal a full relation to Fifteen Carat this year.

Fifteen Carat capped off another highly successful year for Show A Heart who was again crowned champion Queensland stallion.
