Kerrina King new QROA President
24-Aug-2011: Kerrina King has been elected President of the Queensland Racehorse Owners’ Association (QROA) following yesterday’s annual general meeting.
Former QROA President Grant Morgan did not seek re-election and will now focus on a bid for a position on the Gold Coast Turf Club board later this year. He also cited increasing business commitments as an influence behind his decision.
“I’ve enjoyed my time as president and will remain on the committee to support the association,” said Grant Morgan.
“Kerrina King will be an excellent representative for Queensland Owners. Her wide experience and knowledge of the industry will stand her in very good stead for success in the role.”
Following the highly successful QROA Racing Forum last Friday night featuring MP’s Murray Watt and Tim Nicholls, Kerrina King is eager to commence her new role.
“The industry is facing some serious challenges at the moment,” said Kerrina King.
“I think it is vital that as an industry we continue to pressure politicians on both sides for better outcomes for racehorse owners throughout the state.
“I’m looking forward to taking the fight up on behalf of owners.”
During the AGM, the QROA committee also welcomed new members Dale Anderson and Margie O’Ryan.
Matthew Stapleton and Brett Mooney were both elected as Vice Presidents’, whilst Eric Quinn assumes the role of Treasurer.
